Hair Transplant In Islamabad

Hair transplant is a surgical procedure aimed at restoring hair growth in areas of the scalp with thinning or balding hair. It is a popular solution for individuals experiencing male pattern baldness, female pattern hair loss, or other types of hair loss caused by injury or medical conditions.

There are two primary methods of hair transplant:

  1. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): In this technique, a strip of hair-bearing skin is surgically removed from the back or sides of the scalp, where hair growth is usually more resistant to balding. The strip is then dissected into individual hair follicles, known as grafts, which are meticulously implanted into the areas of thinning or balding on the scalp.

  2. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): FUE involves the extraction of individual hair follicles directly from the donor area using a specialized punch-like instrument. These follicular units are then transplanted one by one into the recipient areas on the scalp. FUE does not leave a linear scar like FUT, making it a preferred option for some patients who want to wear their hair short.

Both FUT and FUE procedures are typically performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The surgery can take several hours to complete, depending on the extent of hair loss and the number of grafts required.

Following the procedure, the transplanted hair may initially fall out, but new hair growth should begin within a few months. The final results can take up to a year to become fully apparent, and the new hair should blend in naturally with the existing hair.

As with any surgical procedure, there are potential risks and complications associated with hair transplant, including infection, scarring, and, in rare cases, the failure of the transplanted hair to grow. It is crucial for individuals considering hair transplant to consult with a qualified and experienced hair transplant surgeon to determine their candidacy and understand the potential outcomes and risks involved.
